Q: Do I need a permit to burn yard waste?
A: Yes, a permit can be obtained from the Village of Menomonee Falls Fire Department at no cost. Please see the Villages

Q: Can I have a campfire?
A: Yes, campfires are permitted until 11:00pm and no permit is necessary (Unless there is a burn ban issued by our department at which time no campfires will be permitted.
Q: Are fireworks legal in the Village of Lannon?
A: The Village of Lannon does not further regulate beyond Wisconsin State Law if you have further questions please

Q: Can I tour your firehouse?
A: Yes, please feel free to stop by our firehouse located at 20399 W. Main Street anytime Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Please understand that we may not be in quarters due to calls for service.
Q: What do the numbers on the fire apparatus mean?
A: The first two numbers are the department identifier please see our
Operations Division page for more information on department identifiers. The second two numbers are type identifiers that mean the following:
01 Fire Chief
02 to 03 - Assistant Chief or Deputy Chief
04 to 10 - Company Officers
11 to 44 - Firefighters / EMT's / First Responders / Administrative Staff
45 to 49 - Emergency Government Units
51 to 59 - Ambulances
61 to 69 - Engine Companies
71 to 75 - Truck Companies
76 to 79 - Heavy Rescue / Squad Companies
81 to 84 - Grass & Brush Fire Vehicles
85 to 89 - Miscellaneous & Utility Vehicles
91 to 95 - Tenders
96 to 99 - Watercraft / Dive Units & Boats.
Q: What do the bugles on the uniform collars, badges & helmet shields mean?
A: 5 Bugles - Fire Chief
4 Bugles - Assistant Fire Chief
2 Bugles - Captain
1 Bugle - Lieutenant
Q: What do the different helmet / shield colors mean?
A: White Helmet - Chief Officers
Red Helmet - Captains
Black Helmet with White shield - Lieutenants
Black Helmet with Black shield - Firefighters
Q: Are there Firefighters & EMT's on 24 hours a day?
A: Yes, our firehouse is staffed with one our of personnel Monday through Friday from 7am until 5pm. There are 5 crew's each headed by a company officer that rotate being on call each night. These crew members are on call from 6pm until 6am Monday through Friday and from 6am to 6am on holidays and weekends.
